To paste a link in Taskade, copy the URL, click a task, and press Cmd + V or Ctrl + V. The link is clickable at once, on the web, the desktop app, and your phone.

What Happens When You Paste a Link
The result depends on what you paste and where you paste it. Use this table to pick the right method.

Note: Taskade does not replace a pasted URL with the page title. The task keeps the URL text. To show your own words, paste over selected text.

How It Works
Pick the result that you want, then use the method below it.
Step 1: Copy the Link
The link must be on your clipboard before you paste it.

Step 2: Paste the Link into a Task
The paste link here spot is any task in any project.
- Open a project.
- Click the task where the link goes. To give the link its own line, press
Enterfirst. - Press
Cmd + V(Mac) orCtrl + V(Windows or Linux). - Click the link to make sure that it opens. External links open in a new browser tab.
The steps are the same in a web browser and in the Taskade desktop app.
Step 3: Turn Text into a Hyperlink
A hyperlink puts the link behind your own words, so a note reads "Read the pricing guide" instead of a long address.
- Type the words for the link, for example Read the pricing guide.
- Copy the URL.
- Select the words.
- Press
Cmd + V(Mac) orCtrl + V(Windows or Linux).
You can also select the words and click the Add hyperlink button in the toolbar that opens when you select text. The shortcut is Cmd + Shift + L (Mac) or Ctrl + Shift + L (Windows). Type or paste the URL in the Add link box, then press Enter.

Paste a Link on Your Phone
The Taskade app for iOS and Android uses the same editor as the web app.
- Copy the link in another app.
- Open a project in the Taskade app.
- Tap the task where the link goes.
- Touch and hold the text area, then tap Paste.
To put the link behind your own words, select the words, then tap the link button in the toolbar above the keyboard. The Add hyperlink box opens. Paste the URL and tap Add link.

Embed a Video or Page Preview
The Embed add-on shows a preview on the task, not only a link.
- Click the task.
- Press
Cmd + /(Mac) orCtrl + /(Windows) to open the add-ons menu. - Click Embed. Pick a service, or pick Embed for any URL.
- Paste the URL in the URL field.
- Click Embed.
The service list includes YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, Wistia, Spotify, SoundCloud, Figma, Canva, Google Docs, and Google Sheets. See Task Add-Ons for the other add-ons.
Import a Web Page as a Project
An import reads the text of a page and builds a new project from it.
- In the sidebar, click Import.
- Pick Webpage for a web page, or YouTube for a video.
- Paste the URL.
- For a video, pick Transcript, Summary, or Outline.
- Click Import. Taskade opens the new project.
The import copies text only. It does not copy images, layout, or files. For the full options, see Import a Web Page or Video Link.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I paste any link?
Yes. Paste any web address into a task, from articles and docs to videos and dashboards. The link is clickable at once, on every plan, Free included.
Does Taskade fetch the title?
No. A plain paste keeps the URL as the link text. To show readable words, select your text and paste the URL over it. The Embed add-on shows a preview with the page title when the site provides one.
How do I save a YouTube link?
Paste the YouTube URL into a task, and it is a clickable link. To play the video in the project, use Embed → Youtube from the add-ons menu. To turn the video into notes, use Import → YouTube.
Can I paste many links at once?
Yes. Paste several lines of text, and each line becomes its own task with a clickable link. For a large list from a spreadsheet, use CSV Import or Markdown Import.
Where are saved links stored?
Each link stays in the project where you pasted it. Open the project, switch to any view, or use Search to find the link.
Can a link become a task?
Yes. A pasted link is already a task. Add a due date, assign it, move it on a board, or check it off. See Manage Tasks.
Does this work on mobile?
Yes. In the Taskade app for iOS or Android, touch and hold a task, then tap Paste. To link your own words, select them and tap the link button in the toolbar above the keyboard.
Can I share links with my team?
Yes. Your team sees the links as soon as you paste them in a shared project. Invite teammates with Share Project, or embed the project on a site.
How do I link to another Taskade project?
Paste the project URL into a task, and the link opens the project inside Taskade. You can also type @ and pick a project. See Link Projects Together.
How do I change the color of links?
Links use the color of the workspace or folder. Open the workspace or folder settings, pick a Color, and click Update. See Make a Link Clickable.
