Taskade supports every language your operating system supports, with no separate setup. Turn it on or off in the Desktop app Features menu, or in your browser language settings.
Where you toggle spell check depends on whether you use the Desktop app or a browser.
Overview
Taskade relies on your operating system and web browser spell check to highlight misspelled words as you type. You can enable or disable this feature in the Desktop app settings or in your browser preferences. The steps that follow cover each platform.
Desktop App Spell Check
macOS
- With Taskade open, click Features in the macOS menu bar.
- To turn spell check off, choose Disable Spell Checker from the drop-down list.
- To turn spell check on again, choose Enable Spell Checker.
Windows
- Click the Taskade Icon in the top-left corner.
- Go to the Taskade tab.
- Click on Settings.
- Toggle Spell Checker.
Web Browser Spell Check
Chrome
- Go to Settings.
- Click Advanced ➡ Language.
- To the right of Spell check, turn it on or off.
Firefox
- In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click Firefox.
- Choose "Preferences" from the drop-down menu.
- In the General panel, go to the Language section.
- Uncheck or check Check your spelling as you type.
Edge
- Click the ··· button in the top-right corner.
- Choose Settings ➡ Languages.
- Under Check spelling, turn spell-checking languages on or off.
Brave
- Go to Settings.
- Click Advanced ➡ Language.
- To the right of Spell check, turn it on or off.
Tips
- If spell check highlights words that are correct (for example, technical terms or brand names), right-click the word and choose Add to Dictionary to stop future flags.
- You can add multiple languages in your browser settings so spell check works for multilingual content.
- Spell check in the Desktop app uses the same dictionary as your operating system, so it recognizes the custom words you added system-wide.
- For grammar and style suggestions beyond basic spell check, add a browser extension.
