Instagram Integration

Overview

The Instagram integration lets you instantly upload your photos and videos. Connect your Instagram account to use this feature. You only do this once.

TL;DR: Connect a business Instagram account once, then pull your photos and videos straight into Taskade projects, tasks, project chat, and comments. Media you upload to a project also lands in the media manager, so your AI agents can use it as a knowledge source. Instagram is an upload source, not an automation connector.

📝 Note: A business Instagram account is required for the integration to work.

Instagram lives in the Add-ons menu. Open it, hover Upload File, then pick Instagram:

Upload Files to a Project or Task

1. Open a Project.
2. Open the Add-ons menu (click the plus icon or use /instagram).
3. Hover over Upload File (☁️ cloud icon).
4. Choose Instagram from the dropdown menu.
5. Select the files you want to upload.
6. Press the Select button.
7. Confirm which files you want to upload and press Upload.

Upload Files to a Project Chat

1. Open a Project.
2. Click the Cloud Icon at the bottom of the chat box.
3. Choose Instagram.
4. Select the files you want to upload.
5. Press the Select button.
6. Confirm which files you want to upload and press Upload.

Upload Files to a Comment

1. Open a Project.
2. Open the Add-ons menu (click the plus icon or use /comment).
3. Choose Comment.
4. Click on Upload File (☁️ cloud icon).
5. Choose Instagram from the popup menu.
6. Select the files you want to upload.
7. Press the Select button.
8. Confirm which files you want to upload and press Upload.

Link Your Instagram Account

1. Follow any of the file upload methods above.
2. You will see a sign-in window after selecting Instagram from the prompt window.
3. Log into your Instagram account with your email and password.
4. Grant access to your Instagram.

Media Manager

Files you upload to a project will also be available in the media manager. If you upload a file as a comment or to a project chat, those files will not appear in the media manager.

Common Questions

How do I set up Instagram?

Open any project, open the Add-ons menu or type /instagram, pick Instagram, then sign in with your Instagram email and password. Grant Taskade access and confirm. You only connect once. After that, every upload reuses the same connection. A business Instagram account is required.

Do I need a business account?

Yes. A business Instagram account is required for the integration to work. If your account is personal, switch it to a business account in the Instagram app first, then connect it to Taskade. Personal accounts cannot grant the access the integration needs.

Is the Instagram connection free?

Yes. Instagram is a file-upload integration, so any workspace can connect it and pull media in. See the pricing page for what each plan includes.

Can I build automations on Instagram events?

Not today. Instagram is an upload source, not an automation connector, so there is no Instagram trigger or action in the automation editor. To automate social work now, use X / Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, or Reddit. Check the Integrations Directory for the current list.

Where do uploaded files go?

Files you upload to a project also appear in the media manager. Files you upload to a project chat or a comment do not appear in the media manager. Use uploaded files as knowledge sources for your AI agents so they can answer questions about your media. See the Media Files guide.

Can my AI agents use Instagram media?

Yes. Upload the photos or videos to a project, then add them as knowledge sources. When they draft content, your agents can reuse that media and answer questions about it. See Tools for AI Agents.
