Microsoft Outlook Calendar Integration

Updated 2026-10-17·5 min read

Overview

Connect Microsoft Outlook Calendar to Taskade so meetings and project work move together. A new or changed event can start an automation, and any automation can book, move, or cancel events.

TL;DR: Microsoft Outlook Calendar connects to Taskade automations when you sign in with your Microsoft account. Triggers start an automation when an event is added or changes. Actions create, update, delete, and find events and list your calendars. Attendees get invitations and updates from Outlook. These steps need Pro and up.

Before You Start

  • What you need: A Microsoft account with an Outlook calendar and a Taskade workspace
  • Plan: Pro and up. On Free and Starter, the Microsoft Outlook Calendar steps show a PRO badge and open the upgrade page.
  • Time: About 5 minutes

Step 1: Prepare Your Microsoft Account

  1. Make sure that you can sign in to Outlook with the account that you want to connect.
  2. Make sure that the account can add events to the calendar that you plan to use.

Step 2: Connect Microsoft Outlook Calendar in Taskade

Taskade stores the connection for the whole workspace, so every automation that uses Microsoft Outlook Calendar reuses it.

  1. Open Automations in your workspace, and click Create.
  2. Add a trigger or a step, and search for Microsoft Outlook Calendar.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. Sign in with your Microsoft account, and allow access. The connection asks for calendar access only, so it never gets access to your mail.

Step 3: Pick a Trigger or an Action

Pick a Microsoft Outlook Calendar trigger to start an automation, or add a Microsoft Outlook Calendar action after any trigger. See Automation Triggers and Automation Actions for the Taskade steps that you can combine with them.

Trigger Starts the automation when
New Event An event is added to the Outlook calendar that you pick, by you or by an invitation. A recurring series starts it once. Checks every 15 minutes.
Event Updated An existing event changes: its time, title, attendees, a response, or a cancellation. Checks every 15 minutes.
Action What it does
Create Event Creates an event. Attendees get a meeting invitation from Outlook. With no end time, the event lasts one hour.
Update Event Changes an event by its ID. Only the fields that you fill in change.
Delete Event Deletes an event by its ID. If the account organizes the meeting, Outlook sends a cancellation to each attendee.
Find Events Finds the events between a start and an end time, sorted by start time.
List Calendars Lists the calendars of the connected account, and whether the account can add events to each one.

You are done when a test event in your Outlook calendar starts the automation within 15 minutes and the result shows in Taskade.

Build Your First Microsoft Outlook Calendar Automation

Start from one of these patterns, then add your own steps.

Goal Trigger Steps that follow
Prepare each meeting New Event Ask Agent for an agenda, then Add Task with the agenda
Book time for a task A task gets a due date in Taskade Find Events to check the slot, then Create Event
Track changes Event Updated Update Custom Fields on the meeting task with the new time

To describe an automation in plain words instead, ask Taskade EVE in your workspace. For example:

Build an automation that uses Microsoft Outlook Calendar. When the trigger fires, add a task with the details to a project that I pick. Do not add any other steps yet.

The last sentence of the prompt keeps the first draft small, so you can test one step before you add more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do attendees get an invitation?

Yes. Create Event and Update Event send the invitation or the update from Outlook. Update Event replaces the full attendee list when you fill in attendees.

How fast does an Outlook Calendar trigger start?

The triggers check for changes every 15 minutes, so an automation can start up to 15 minutes after the change.
