Brevo Integration

Updated 2026-10-17·5 min read

Overview

Connect Brevo to Taskade so your email marketing and your project work share one loop. Automations can send an email, keep contacts and lists current, and react when a contact unsubscribes or an email bounces.

TL;DR: Brevo connects to Taskade automations with an API key. Triggers start an automation when a contact joins a list, unsubscribes, or a transactional email bounces. Actions send a transactional email, create, update, and read contacts, and add or remove contacts from lists. Brevo steps need Pro and up.

Before You Start

  • What you need: A Brevo account with a verified sender or domain and a Taskade workspace
  • Plan: Pro and up. On Free and Starter, the Brevo steps show a PRO badge and open the upgrade page.
  • Time: About 5 minutes

Step 1: Create a Brevo API Key

  1. Sign in to Brevo, and open your account menu at the top right.
  2. Open SMTP & API, then API Keys.
  3. Click Generate a new API key, and give it a name.
  4. Copy the key. It starts with xkeysib-.

Step 2: Connect Brevo in Taskade

Taskade stores the connection for the whole workspace, so every automation that uses Brevo reuses it.

  1. Open Automations in your workspace, and click Create.
  2. Add a trigger or a step, and search for Brevo.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. Paste the key into API Key. If your Brevo account allows API calls only from authorized IP addresses, turn that limit off. Brevo blocks Taskade calls while the limit is on.
  5. Save the connection. Taskade tests it with Brevo before it saves it.

Step 3: Pick a Trigger or an Action

Pick a Brevo trigger to start an automation, or add a Brevo action after any trigger. See Automation Triggers and Automation Actions for the Taskade steps that you can combine with them.

Trigger Starts the automation when
Contact Added to List A contact is added to a Brevo list.
Contact Unsubscribed A contact unsubscribes from your Brevo email campaigns.
Transactional Email Bounced A transactional email bounces, is blocked, or goes to an invalid address.
Action What it does
Send Transactional Email Sends one email with your own subject and body, or with a saved Brevo template.
Create Contact Adds a contact by email. By default, an existing contact with the same email is updated.
Update Contact Changes a contact found by email, adds it to a list, or unsubscribes or resubscribes it.
Get Contact Reads one contact by email, with its attributes, lists, and unsubscribe state.
Add Contact to List Adds existing contacts to a list, by email.
Remove Contact from List Removes contacts from a list. The contacts stay in Brevo.
List Contact Lists Lists the contact lists of the account, with the subscriber count of each one.

You are done when a test email arrives from your Brevo sender, or a test list change starts the automation.

Build Your First Brevo Automation

Start from one of these patterns, then add your own steps.

Goal Trigger Steps that follow
Welcome a new customer A deal is won in your CRM Create Contact, then Send Transactional Email with your template
Clean your list Transactional Email Bounced Add Task for the account owner to fix the address
Respect opt-outs Contact Unsubscribed Update Custom Fields on the contact task in Taskade

To describe an automation in plain words instead, ask Taskade EVE in your workspace. For example:

Build an automation that uses Brevo. When the trigger fires, add a task with the details to a project that I pick. Do not add any other steps yet.

The last sentence of the prompt keeps the first draft small, so you can test one step before you add more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Brevo reject my email step?

The sender must be a sender or domain that is verified in Brevo. Add and check the sender in Brevo, then run the step again.

Can I send a saved Brevo template?

Yes. Send Transactional Email can send a saved Brevo template, or a subject and body that you write in the step.
