Overview
Connect Jotform to Taskade so each submission turns into work in your workspace. A new answer can create a task, alert a teammate, or feed an AI agent, with no copy and paste.
TL;DR: Jotform connects to Taskade automations with an API key. The New Submission trigger starts an automation each time someone submits the form that you pick, with the answers keyed by question label. Actions list your forms and read one submission or a set of submissions. Jotform steps need Pro and up.
Before You Start
- What you need: A Jotform account with at least one form and a Taskade workspace
- Plan: Pro and up. On Free and Starter, the Jotform steps show a PRO badge and open the upgrade page.
- Time: About 5 minutes
Step 1: Create a Jotform API Key
- Sign in to Jotform, and open Settings, then API.
- Click Create New Key.
- Set the key permission to Full Access. The New Submission trigger needs it to register its webhook.
- Copy the key.
Step 2: Connect Jotform in Taskade
Taskade stores the connection for the whole workspace, so every automation that uses Jotform reuses it.
- Open Automations in your workspace, and click Create.
- Add a trigger or a step, and search for Jotform.
- Click Connect.
- Paste the key into API Key. Under Region, pick EU if you sign in at eu.jotform.com, HIPAA if your account is HIPAA compliant, or US for all other accounts.
- Save the connection. Taskade tests it with Jotform before it saves it.
Step 3: Pick a Trigger or an Action
Pick a Jotform trigger to start an automation, or add a Jotform action after any trigger. See Automation Triggers and Automation Actions for the Taskade steps that you can combine with them.
| Trigger | Starts the automation when |
|---|---|
| New Submission | Someone submits the Jotform form that you pick. The output has the submission ID, the submit time, and the answers keyed by question label. |
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| List Forms | Lists the forms of the connected account, with each form ID, title, status, link, and submission count. |
| Get Submission | Reads one submission by its ID, with its answers keyed by question label. |
| Get Submissions | Reads the submissions of one form, newest first. |
You are done when a test submission on your Jotform form starts the automation and a task with the answers shows in your project.
Build Your First Jotform Automation
Start from one of these patterns, then add your own steps.
| Goal | Trigger | Steps that follow |
|---|---|---|
| Turn orders into tasks | New Submission | Add Task with the answers, then Assign Task |
| Draft a reply | New Submission | Generate with AI for a reply, then Send Email through Gmail |
| Review a backlog | Schedule | Get Submissions, Summarize with AI, then Add Task with the summary |
To describe an automation in plain words instead, ask Taskade EVE in your workspace. For example:
Build an automation that uses Jotform. When the trigger fires, add a task with the details to a project that I pick. Do not add any other steps yet.
The last sentence of the prompt keeps the first draft small, so you can test one step before you add more.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which region do I pick?
Pick EU if you sign in at eu.jotform.com. Pick HIPAA if your Jotform account is HIPAA compliant. Pick US for every other account.
Why does the trigger need Full Access?
The New Submission trigger registers a webhook on your form. Jotform allows that only with a Full Access key.
