Connect

HighLevel Integration

Updated 2026-10-17·5 min read

Overview

Connect a HighLevel sub-account to Taskade so client work and your CRM stay in step. A new contact can start an automation, and any automation can update contacts, move opportunities, and book appointments.

TL;DR: HighLevel connects to Taskade automations with a private integration token and a location ID. The New Contact trigger starts an automation when a contact is added. Actions create, update, find, and tag contacts, add notes, create and move opportunities, and book appointments. HighLevel steps need Pro and up.

Before You Start

  • What you need: A HighLevel sub-account where you can create a private integration and a Taskade workspace
  • Plan: Pro and up. On Free and Starter, the HighLevel steps show a PRO badge and open the upgrade page.
  • Time: About 5 minutes

Step 1: Create a HighLevel Private Integration

  1. In HighLevel, open the sub-account, then Settings, then Private Integrations. If you do not see it, turn it on in Labs.
  2. Create a new integration, for example "Taskade".
  3. Select the contact, opportunity, and calendar scopes: View and Edit Contacts, View and Edit Opportunities, View Calendars, and Edit Calendar Events.
  4. Copy the token. HighLevel shows it only once.
  5. Copy the Location ID from Settings, then Business Profile.

Step 2: Connect HighLevel in Taskade

Taskade stores the connection for the whole workspace, so every automation that uses HighLevel reuses it.

  1. Open Automations in your workspace, and click Create.
  2. Add a trigger or a step, and search for HighLevel.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. Paste the Private Integration Token and the Location ID. One connection covers one sub-account.
  5. Save the connection. Taskade tests it with HighLevel before it saves it.

Step 3: Pick a Trigger or an Action

Pick a HighLevel trigger to start an automation, or add a HighLevel action after any trigger. See Automation Triggers and Automation Actions for the Taskade steps that you can combine with them.

Trigger Starts the automation when
New Contact A new contact is added to the HighLevel sub-account, from a form, an import, the API, or by hand. Checks every 15 minutes.
Action What it does
Create or Update Contact Creates a contact, or updates the contact that has the same email or phone.
Update Contact Updates the fields of a contact by its ID.
Find Contact Finds contacts by exact email, or by text that matches name, email, phone, or company.
Get Contact Reads one contact by its ID, with its fields and tags.
Add Tags to Contact and Remove Tags from Contact Adds or removes tags on a contact.
Add Note to Contact Adds a note, for example a call summary or form answers.
Create Opportunity Creates a deal for a contact in a pipeline stage, with an optional value and owner.
Move Opportunity to Stage Moves a deal to another stage, and optionally sets it to won, lost, or abandoned.
Create Appointment Books an appointment for a contact in a calendar at a start time.

You are done when a test contact in HighLevel starts the automation within 15 minutes. A test step can also update a contact that you then see in HighLevel.

Build Your First HighLevel Automation

Start from one of these patterns, then add your own steps.

Goal Trigger Steps that follow
Qualify new leads New Contact Ask Agent to score the lead, then Add Tags to Contact
Start client delivery An opportunity is won Create Project From Template, then Assign Task to the account manager
Book a kickoff call A Taskade task is completed Find Contact, then Create Appointment

To describe an automation in plain words instead, ask Taskade EVE in your workspace. For example:

Build an automation that uses HighLevel. When the trigger fires, add a task with the details to a project that I pick. Do not add any other steps yet.

The last sentence of the prompt keeps the first draft small, so you can test one step before you add more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can one connection cover several sub-accounts?

No. One HighLevel connection covers one sub-account, set by its Location ID. Add one connection for each sub-account.

Why does Create Appointment fail on a busy slot?

By default, HighLevel accepts an appointment only in a free slot of the calendar. Pick a free start time, then run the step again.
