What is Taskade Genesis?

Taskade Genesis is an AI-powered app builder that turns a plain-English prompt into a fully working, deployable application. Unlike code generators that hand you files, Taskade Genesis ships living software: a project database, AI agents, automations, and a hosted user interface, all wired together in one workspace. 150,000+ apps have been built with it to date.

How Taskade Genesis works

Taskade Genesis builds every app on four connected layers, the Workspace DNA, so each app can store data, think, act, and present a polished interface from the same prompt. You describe what you want, Taskade Genesis assembles all four layers, and the result is a hosted, shareable app you can edit conversationally.

  • Projects (Memory): structured databases with 9 views (List, Board, Table, Mind Map, Docs, Gantt Chart, Calendar, Actionsheet, Org Chart)
  • AI Agents (Intelligence): a large built-in toolkit, persistent memory, multi-agent collaboration
  • Automations (Execution): reliable workflows with branching, looping, and 100+ integrations
  • App UI (Interface): a hosted, mobile-responsive front-end with custom domains and password protection

How it differs from code generators

Code generators like Bolt.new, Lovable, V0, and Cursor produce source files you still have to deploy, host, and maintain. Taskade Genesis produces living software, a deployed app with embedded AI agents, persistent data, and automations, directly inside your workspace. There is no codebase to wrangle, no Vercel project to set up, and no separate database to provision.

Taskade Genesis Code generators (Bolt, Lovable, V0, Cursor)
Output Deployed living app Source files
Database Built-in (Projects) DIY
AI agents Built-in, large toolkit Not included
Automations Built-in, 100+ integrations Not included
Hosting Included DIY
Editing Conversational, in-app Re-prompt and redeploy

How it differs from project tools

Notion, Monday, and ClickUp organize work but cannot build software. Taskade Genesis combines project management with an AI app builder, AI agents, and durable automations, so the same workspace that holds your data also generates the apps, dashboards, and workflows that act on it. Project management tools organize; Taskade Genesis executes.

What can I build?

You can build customer portals, internal dashboards, booking tools, intake forms, CRMs, inventory trackers, marketing landing pages, lead-capture funnels, knowledge bases, AI assistants, and full workflow automations. Anything that combines a database, a UI, and some logic is in scope, and you can browse 150,000+ live examples in the Community Gallery.

Category Example apps
Customer-facing Portals, booking, intake forms, support widgets
Internal ops Dashboards, CRMs, inventory, approvals
Marketing Landing pages, lead capture, content calendars
AI tools Research assistants, chatbots, summarizers
Automation Webhook handlers, Stripe billing, Slack bots

Every paid plan includes unlimited apps and access to 15+ frontier models. Built-in client logins are part of every published app on any plan, and custom domains start on the Business plan.

Plan Price (annual) Apps Best for
Free $0 3 Trying Taskade Genesis
Pro (★ Popular) $10/mo Unlimited Small teams (10 users)
Business $25/mo Unlimited Custom domains & workspace SSO
Max $100/mo Unlimited High-volume builders
Enterprise $250/mo Unlimited Security & scale

Custom domains start on the Business plan. Built-in client logins (GenesisAuth) come with every published app on every plan, including Free. See taskade.com/pricing for full details.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Taskade Genesis is built for plain-English prompting, what the industry calls "vibe coding." You describe what you want ("a customer portal that lets clients submit requests and see status updates"), and Taskade Genesis assembles the database, UI, agents, and automations for you. Engineers can still drop into advanced settings, but it is not required.

Which AI models does it use?

Taskade Genesis runs on 15+ frontier models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and leading open-weight providers. You can pick the model that best fits each agent and task, fast models for short replies, reasoning models for complex planning, and switch at any time without rebuilding your app. Model routing is handled automatically, so you do not have to manage API keys.

Can I use a custom domain?

Yes. From the Go Live → Domains panel in App Settings you can connect any domain you own (or buy one inside Taskade), and SSL is provisioned automatically. Your app will load at your branded URL, for example app.yourcompany.com, instead of the default Taskade link, with no DNS or certificate work on your side.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Apps and data live in Taskade's secure cloud with encryption in transit and at rest, automatic backups, and a 7-tier role-based access system (Owner, Maintainer, Editor, Commenter, Collaborator, Participant, Viewer). You can password-protect published apps, restrict by email domain, and revoke access at any time. You retain full ownership of everything you build.

How do AI credits work?

AI credits are the unit Taskade uses to meter generative AI work: building apps, running agents, generating content, and executing AI-powered automation steps. Heavier reasoning models use more credits per call than lightweight models, and Auto routing keeps cost efficient by picking the right model for each task. The free plan includes a one-time starter allowance; paid plans include a monthly allowance, and Pro and above can buy top-up packs. See AI Models & Credit Costs for current amounts.

Can I share or sell my apps?

Yes. Every published app gets a shareable link and three visibility modes: Public (discoverable in the Community Gallery), Secret (link-only), or Private (workspace only). You can fork-protect apps, charge for access using built-in Stripe automations, or publish them as templates that other users clone with one click. You own everything you build.

What integrations are supported?

Taskade Genesis supports 100+ bidirectional integrations across 10 categories: Communication, Email & CRM, Payments, Development, Productivity, Content, Data & Analytics, Storage, Calendar, and E-commerce. You reach them through automations, where triggers pull events in and actions push data out. Popular connectors include Slack, Discord, Gmail, HubSpot, Stripe, Shopify, GitHub, Google Sheets, and WordPress. Taskade also runs a hosted MCP server on every paid plan, so external AI clients like Claude Desktop and Cursor can connect into your workspace.

Category Examples
Communication Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp, Telegram
Email & CRM Gmail, HubSpot, Apollo
Payments Stripe, Shopify
Development GitHub, HTTP, Webhooks
Productivity Google Sheets, Drive, Docs, Calendar
Social LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit

See Tools for AI Agents for the full agent tool list.

How do AI agents fit in?

AI agents are the Intelligence layer of every Taskade Genesis app. Each agent has persistent memory, access to a large built-in toolkit (web search, file reading, code execution, and more), and can collaborate with other agents in multi-agent workflows. Your 100+ integrations reach them through automations, which agents can trigger. You can embed agents directly into your app's UI as chat widgets, decision steps inside automations, or background workers that monitor your data. Ask Taskade EVE for a chat history screen and a published app can show a visitor the earlier conversations they started in that browser. It shows only their own chats, never anyone else's, because a public chat has no sign-in behind it.

How do automations work?

Automations are the Execution layer: reliable workflows that run in the background even if you close your browser. You can trigger them from form submissions, schedules, webhooks, or events inside your projects. A submission can carry a document or a photo, and later steps can read what is inside it. Each workflow supports branching, looping, filtering, and AI steps, and connects to 100+ integrations. Learn more in Automations.

Can my app receive files?

Yes. Add a file upload field to a form in your published app, and the people using it attach a document or a photo when they submit. The file is sent to your automation as a real stored file and lands in your workspace Media Files, where you can see it. A Convert File to Text step reads the words off the page, including a scanned contract, a supplier invoice, or a phone photo of a receipt, so the row comes back filled in.

Kind of file What the step takes
Typed documents PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, EPUB, CSV, TXT, Markdown
Scans and photos Image-only PDF, PNG, JPG, WebP, HEIC from an iPhone camera
Size limit 20 MB for a scan or photo being read off the page. Typed documents are limited by your plan's upload size

See Files from Your App's Users for the upload path, Read Scanned Documents for what happens to a scan, and Build a Document Intake App for the whole build end to end.

Can I export or back up my apps?

Yes. You can export project data to CSV or JSON at any time, and Taskade keeps automatic version history of your app so you can roll back changes. Workspace owners on paid plans can also request full workspace exports. Because you own your apps and data, nothing is locked in, so you can move it out whenever you need to.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Taskade Genesis?

Taskade Genesis is an AI app builder that turns a plain-English prompt into a complete, working app. Each app ships with a real interface, projects that act as its database, AI agents, and automations, all wired together in one workspace. You get living software you can share and edit conversationally, not just code files to deploy yourself.

How much does Taskade Genesis cost?

Taskade Genesis is included in every plan, including the free tier. Paid plans start at $10/month billed annually, and every paid plan includes unlimited apps and access to 15+ frontier models. See taskade.com/pricing for current details.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You describe the app you want in plain English, and Taskade Genesis assembles the database, interface, agents, and automations for you. Engineers can drop into advanced settings if they want, but it is never required to ship a working app.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Custom domains are available on the Business plan and up. From the Go Live → Domains panel in App Settings you can connect a domain you own or buy one inside Taskade, and SSL is set up for you automatically. Your app then loads at your branded address instead of the default Taskade link. See Custom Domains for the full setup.

Are published apps free for my visitors to use?

Yes. Visitors do not need a paid plan, or any Taskade account, to use an app you publish. They open your link and start using the app right away. Your plan covers building and hosting the app, not the people who use it.

How do I start from an existing app?

Browse the Community Gallery and clone any app you like in one click. The clone lands in your workspace as your own copy, ready to rename, re-prompt, and reshape. It is the fastest way to start from a proven layout instead of a blank prompt.

What this means for your business

You already know what you'd build. You are running a version of it right now in a spreadsheet, your inbox, or your head. Taskade Genesis turns that into a live app from one prompt.

Picture a client portal. You describe it once: "a portal where my clients log in, submit requests, and track status." Taskade Genesis builds the form, the project database behind it, the dashboard, and the login. Your clients sign in with their email, and the access rules you asked for in the same prompt keep each one looking at their own requests. New requests trigger an automation that notifies your team and updates the status board on its own. You manage everything from one workspace, and the app stays live for everyone who has the link.

That is the shape behind a customer portal. The same pattern builds a CRM, an ops dashboard, or an internal tool.
