Build and publish a Taskade Genesis app
Follow these steps to go from a prompt to a live shareable app. The sections below then answer plan, domain, sign-in, and sharing questions.
Step 1: Describe the app in plain English
Open Taskade and click Create. Name the users, the data, the actions, and the outcome. Example: a client portal where customers submit requests and track status. Taskade Genesis assembles the project database, agents, automations, and UI from that prompt.
Step 2: Review the four Workspace DNA layers
Open the generated app and walk the four layers. Projects hold Memory. AI Agents provide Intelligence. Automations handle Execution. The App UI is the Interface visitors see. Refine by chat until the data, decisions, and screens match the job.
Step 3: Publish a shareable link
Click Publish. Choose Public, Secret (link only), or Private (workspace only). Copy the live address. Visitors do not need a Taskade account to open a published app. Your plan covers building and hosting.
Step 4: Add client sign-in
If customers need an identity, turn on email sign-in on the published app. Sign-in works on every plan, including Free. It confirms who the visitor is. It does not hide Project rows on its own. Add explicit filters that match records to that login, then test with a second account. See GenesisAuth: built-in client logins.
Step 5: Share as a template or connect a domain
Use Share as kit when other people can clone the app. Choose Free or Paid. Custom domains start on the Business plan. Open App Settings → Go Live → Domains only when you want a branded address. Do not treat the domain as a sign-in gate. They are separate controls.

How it differs from project tools

Do I need to know how to code?
No. Taskade Genesis is built for plain-English prompting. You describe what you want ("a customer portal that lets clients submit requests and see status updates"). Taskade Genesis assembles the database, interface, agents, and automations for you. Engineers can still drop into advanced settings, but it is not required.
Which AI models does it use?
Taskade Genesis runs on 15+ frontier models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and open-weight providers. Pick the model that fits each agent and task. Use fast models for short replies and reasoning models for complex planning. Switch at any time with no rebuild. Taskade routes models automatically. You do not manage API keys.
Can I use a custom domain?
Yes, on Business and above. Open Go Live → Domains in App Settings. Buy a domain inside Taskade and it manages the domain settings (DNS) and the security certificate (SSL) for you. To connect a domain you already own, add the DNS records Taskade shows you. Your app then loads at your branded URL, for example app.yourcompany.com.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Apps and data live in Taskade's secure cloud. You get encryption in transit and at rest, automatic backups, and role-based access from Owner down to Viewer. You can password-protect published apps, restrict by email domain, and revoke access at any time. You retain full ownership of everything you build.
How do AI credits work?
AI credits are the unit Taskade uses to meter generative AI work: building apps, running agents, generating content, and executing AI-powered automation steps. Heavier reasoning models use more credits per call than lightweight models. Auto routing picks the right model for each task. The Free plan includes a one-time starter allowance. Paid plans include a monthly allowance and top-up packs on the Credits page. See AI Models & Credit Costs for current amounts.
Can I share or sell my apps?
Yes. Every published app gets a shareable link and three visibility modes: Public, Secret (link-only), or Private (workspace only). Public visibility does not make an app cloneable.
Open Share as kit when you want other users to clone the app. Choose Free for free clones or Paid to set a price. Open Earnings to finish payout setup. See Sell Your Taskade Genesis App as an App Kit.
What integrations are supported?
Taskade Genesis supports 100+ bidirectional integrations across 10 categories: Communication, Email & CRM, Payments, Development, Productivity, Content, Data & Analytics, Storage, Calendar, and E-commerce. You reach them through automations. Triggers pull events in and actions push data out. Popular connectors include Slack, Discord, Gmail, HubSpot, Stripe, GitHub, Google Sheets, and WordPress. Taskade also runs a hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) server on every paid plan. MCP is the shared standard AI apps use to reach your tools, so outside AI apps like Claude Desktop and Cursor can connect into your workspace.

How do AI agents fit in?
AI agents are the Intelligence layer of every Taskade Genesis app. Each agent has persistent memory and access to a large built-in toolkit, for example web search, file reading, and code execution. Agents can also collaborate in multi-agent teams. Your 100+ integrations reach them through automations, which agents can trigger. You can embed agents in your app's interface as chat widgets, decision steps, or helpers that run in the background.
Ask Taskade EVE for a chat history screen. A published app can then show a visitor the earlier conversations they started in that browser. It shows only their own chats, never anyone else's. A public chat has no sign-in behind it.
How do automations work?
Automations are the Execution layer. They run in the background even if you close your browser. You can trigger them from form submissions, schedules, webhooks, or events inside your projects. A submission can carry a document or a photo that later steps can read. Each automation supports branching, looping, filtering, AI steps, and 100+ integrations. See Automations.
Can my app receive files?
Yes. Add a file upload field to a form in your published app, and the people using it attach a document or a photo when they submit. The file is sent to your automation as a real stored file and lands in your workspace Media Files, where you can see it. A Convert File to Text step reads the words off the page. It handles a scanned contract, a supplier invoice, or a phone photo of a receipt. The row then comes back filled in.

Can I export or back up my apps?
Yes. You can export project data to CSV or JSON, export supported app bundles, and use version history to roll back changes. These exports cover Taskade data and supported bundle formats. They do not promise a standalone copy of every hosted service behind a published app.

Are published apps free for my visitors to use?
Yes. Visitors do not need a paid plan, or any Taskade account, to use an app you publish. They open your link and start using the app right away. Your plan covers building and hosting the app, not the people who use it.
How do I start from an existing app?
Browse the Community Gallery and look for free or paid App Kits. Those pages show a Clone action and a receipt that lists everything Taskade copies. The clone lands in your workspace as an editable copy, ready to rename, re-prompt, and reshape.
What this means for your business
You already know what you want to build. A version of it lives in a spreadsheet, your inbox, or your head. Taskade Genesis turns that into a live app from one prompt.

Before publishing, configure and test explicit filters that match each signed-in identity to the correct Project rows.
