Overview
When someone clones your published Taskade Genesis app from the Community Gallery, you earn AI credits back into your workspace. The credits land automatically, and every earn, spend, and refund is listed in a new credit audit log you can open from Settings.
TL;DR: Publish a Taskade Genesis app to the Community Gallery, and every clone credits you a share of the cloner's AI usage. Open Settings → Billing → Credits to see your audit log. Paired with auto top-up, your apps can offset their own running cost.
How Creator Credits Work
Every clone attaches the original creator to the new app. When the cloner runs AI inside that app, a portion of the credit spend is attributed back to you as a creator reward. You keep earning on every run, not just the first clone.
- Automatic attribution — the clone carries the creator ID
- Runs, not downloads — you earn when the app is actually used
- Stacks with automations — automations inside the app count too
Where Credits Land
Creator credits go straight into your workspace credit pool, the same pool that powers your own agents and automations. Open Settings → Billing → Credits to see the running balance and a line-by-line record.
- Open Settings → Billing.
- Pick the Credits tab.
- Scroll to the Audit log section.
Each row shows the date, action (earned, spent, refunded), source app, and credit amount.
Reading the Audit Log
Four columns tell you everything you need:
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Date | Exact timestamp of the credit event |
| Action | Earned, spent, or refunded |
| Source | The app, agent, or automation that triggered the event |
| Amount | Credits added or removed from your balance |
Filter by action to see only creator earnings, or by source to isolate one app's performance.
Publishing a Cloneable App
Any Taskade Genesis app you build can be published to the Community Gallery. Cloning is opt-in for each app, and you can turn it off later if you want to keep it private.
- Open your Taskade Genesis app.
- Click Share → Publish to Community.
- Toggle Allow Cloning on.
- Confirm, then share the public link.
Once approved, your app shows up in the Community Gallery and starts earning creator credits the moment the first clone runs AI.
Tips to Grow Earnings
- Solve a sharp problem. Focused apps (invoice generator, CRM tracker, a weekly planner) get cloned more than broad ones.
- Write a strong TL;DR. The first line in your app description is what visitors read before cloning.
- Ship useful agents and automations. Cloners keep using the automations, and every run credits you.
- Iterate. Update the published app when you improve it. Clone counts and AI runs trend upward with polish.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I earn credits only on the first clone?
No. You earn every time the cloned app runs AI, for the life of the clone. Busy clones keep crediting you as long as they're in use.
Can the cloner opt out of the creator attribution?
No. Attribution is baked into the clone so you always get credit for work that came from your app.
Where do the credits come from?
A share of the cloner's own AI credit spend. The cloner always pays for their usage; Taskade splits part of that spend back to the original creator.
What if an app is refunded or reversed?
Refunds show up as a negative row in the same audit log, so the totals always balance.
