A free Taskade account gives you projects, AI agents, automations, and Taskade Genesis apps in one workspace. Sign-up takes about two minutes and needs no credit card.
TL;DR: Open taskade.com/signup. Click Sign up with Google or Sign up with Apple, or type your email and a password of at least 12 characters. Taskade picks your username for you. If you used email, click the link in the email from Taskade Team to get your welcome AI credits. See Is Taskade Free?.
In this guide, you will:
- Create a Taskade account with Google, Apple, single sign-on, or email
- Set a password that meets the rules
- Name your first workspace
Before You Start
You need an email address that you check, or a Google or Apple account.
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Plan | Every new account starts on the Free plan, at no cost |
| What you need | An email address that you check, or a Google or Apple account. A temporary inbox does not work. |
| Time | About 2 minutes |
Step 1: Open the Sign-Up Page
The sign-up page offers every way to create an account.
- Go to taskade.com/signup.
- If you already have an account, click Log in instead.
What you will see: Two buttons at the top, Sign up with Google and Sign up with Apple. Under them is a small Sign up with Single Sign-On link. Below that is a short form with Email and Password fields.

Step 2: Pick How You Sign Up
Each option creates the same kind of account. Pick the one you want to use every time you log in.
| Option | Pick it when |
|---|---|
| Sign up with Google | You use a Google account for your email |
| Sign up with Apple | You use an Apple ID |
| Sign up with Single Sign-On | Your company set up single sign-on for Taskade |
| Email and password | You want to log in with an email address and a password |
If you picked Google, Apple, or single sign-on:
- Click the button or link.
- Follow the steps on the screen from Google, Apple, or your company.
- Wait for Taskade to open again.
Your account is ready. Go to Step 5. If you picked email, continue with Step 3.
Note: Your company administrator turns on single sign-on. If the link does not work for your email address, ask your administrator. The setup steps are in SAML via Okta and SAML via Google Workspace.
Step 3: Type Your Email and a Password
An email account needs a password of at least 12 characters.
- Type your email address in the Email field.
- Type a password in the Password field.
- Click the eye icon if you want to see what you typed.
- Look at the meter under the field.
- When the meter says Looks good, click Sign up.
What you will see: The meter counts down, for example "4 more characters." At 12 characters it turns green and says Looks good.
The password rules are short:
- Use 12 to 128 characters.
- Use any characters you like. Taskade does not ask for capital letters, numbers, or symbols.
- Pick a password that you do not use on other sites.
A passphrase of four or five ordinary words is long, easy to remember, and meets the rules. If Taskade asks for a different password, type a new one.
Pro tip: Let a password manager, such as the one in your browser, make and save the password for you.
To change or reset the password later, see Change / Reset Taskade Password.
Step 4: Click the Link in Your Email
The link in the Taskade email verifies your address and adds your welcome AI credits.
- Open your inbox.
- Open the email from Taskade Team. It comes from
updates@taskade.com. - Click the link in the email.
What you will see: Taskade opens in your browser. Your welcome AI credits are now in your account.
If you signed up with Google, Apple, or single sign-on, skip this step. Taskade already knows your email address. See Your Taskade Welcome Series for the emails that come next.
Step 5: Name Your Workspace
The first setup screen helps you make your workspace your own.
- Type a name in the Name your workspace field, for example your company or team name.
- Pick a Workspace color.
- Continue through the rest of the setup screens.
What you will see: Your new workspace opens, ready for your first project or app.
You Are Done When
You see your new workspace, and your username shows in Settings → Account.
Change Your Username
You can change the username that Taskade picked at any time.
The sign-up form has no username field. Taskade makes your first username from the part of your email address before the @. You can keep it, or change it at any time:
- Open Settings.
- Click Account.
- Type a new name in the Username field.
- Click Update.
A username has 4 to 20 characters. You can use letters, numbers, hyphens, underscores, and periods. Do not start or end with a hyphen, underscore, or period, and do not put two of them in a row.
Your username is also your public address, for example taskade.com/@yourname. See Community Profiles.
Troubleshooting
Find what you see in the left column, then do the fix.
| What you see | Why | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Taskade asks for a different password | The password is on a list of leaked passwords | Type a new password that you do not use on other sites. |
| Taskade refuses your email address | The address is a temporary inbox | Use an email address that you keep. |
| The Taskade email does not arrive | The email went to spam or junk | Look in your spam or junk folder, then add updates@taskade.com to your contacts. |
| The single sign-on link does not work for your email | Your company did not turn on single sign-on for Taskade | Ask your administrator, or sign up with email. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a credit card to sign up?
No. Every new account starts on the Free plan, and the sign-up form does not ask for a card. You can upgrade later from Settings → Plans. See Is Taskade Free? for what the Free plan includes.
Where does my username come from?
Taskade makes your first username from the part of your email address before the @. You can change it at any time in Settings → Account. Type a new name in the Username field, then click Update.
What password can I use?
Use 12 to 128 characters. Taskade does not ask for capital letters, numbers, or symbols, so a long passphrase of ordinary words works well. The meter under the field says Looks good when your password is long enough.
What if the email from Taskade does not arrive?
Wait a few minutes, then look in your spam or junk folder. The email comes from Taskade Team at updates@taskade.com. Add that address to your contacts so that later emails from Taskade reach your inbox.
Can I sign up with my company single sign-on?
Yes, if your company administrator turned on single sign-on for Taskade. Click Sign up with Single Sign-On under the Google and Apple buttons. Single sign-on is available on the Business, Max, and Enterprise plans.
Can I sign in with Google later if I signed up with email?
Yes. Open Settings → Connections to turn on sign-in with Google, Apple, or Microsoft for your account. See Account Settings (Desktop) for every settings page.
