Overview
You deleted your projects, but they still show up in your search menu. Their tasks also still appear in the My Tasks tab. This happens when the project index does not refresh. The steps on this page clear these ghost projects.
TL;DR: Keep My Tasks accurate after project changes by refreshing your task index. Transfer ownership of the workspace, leave, and rejoin to force a clean re-sync. A quick check of Trash plus a hard browser refresh clears most lingering entries on the spot.
Use this quick check to tell a stale entry from a healthy one.

Transfer Ownership
- Follow the steps in Transfer Ownership to hand the workspace with the ghost projects to a second user. The second user can be a friend, a teammate, or a second account of your own.
- Leave the workspace.
- Ask the second user to invite you back into the workspace.
- Open My Tasks and check whether the ghost projects are gone. If they remain, continue below.
Missing Folders
If folders are missing after you rejoined the workspace, ask the second user to follow these steps to bring them back.
- Open Workspace Settings
- Click on the Folder Section
- Click on the folders that are "missing" and click Join as Owner
- Open that folder and re-share it back to the original account

Tips
- Check the Trash first. Deleted projects can sit in the workspace Trash for a limited time. Look for a Trash or Recently Deleted section in your workspace before you try the workarounds on this page.
- Hard refresh your browser. Press Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + R (Mac) to bypass the cache and force Taskade to re-fetch the latest project index.
- Log out and back in. Signing out of all devices and signing back in can force a full sync, which often clears stale task entries from My Tasks.
