Overview
Move your field notes, meeting jots, and research out of Bear. They land in a shared Taskade project your whole team can open and act on. Bear is a Markdown-based note-taking app for Apple devices, known for its clean design and tagging system. Because Bear stores notes in Markdown, the move to Taskade is short. You export your notes as .md files and import them into your workspace. Headings, lists, and text formatting stay intact.
TL;DR: Export Bear notes as Markdown, then drop the .md files into Taskade's Import with AI tab to turn each note into a structured project with headings, lists, and formatting intact. Once imported, switch across multiple project views or feed notes to agent knowledge.
Export a Bear Note
- Open the Bear App and select a note from the list on the left.
- Click ℹ️ in the top-right corner of your note.
- Choose the Markdown format and save the file.
- You can also copy the contents of your Bear note directly to your clipboard.
To export multiple notes at once, hold Cmd and click each note in the sidebar. Then choose File ➡ Export Notes. Pick Markdown as the format.
Import to Taskade
Go to your workspace or folder.
Click the arrow next to the ➕ New Project button.
Select Import, then drag your Bear .md files into the Import with AI tab. To paste content instead, click Paste Text & Markdown.
- You can upload multiple files at once.
Click Create Project to finish.
Each imported .md file becomes a new Taskade project with your formatting preserved.
After Import
After your Bear notes land in Taskade, you can build on them:
- Switch views: See your notes in List, Mind Map, Board, or any of Taskade's project views.
- Organize with folders: Group related notes into folders and workspaces to replicate your Bear tag structure.
- Use AI to enhance: Ask Taskade AI to summarize, expand, or restructure your imported notes.
- Build agent knowledge: Upload your notes as agent knowledge so custom AI agents can reference them in conversations.
- Collaborate: Share imported projects with teammates for real-time editing.
Tips
- Bear tags (for example,
#work/meetings) are exported as plain text. Use Taskade folders or tags to reorganize. - To move everything at once, use the bulk export in Bear.
- Markdown exports leave out the images embedded in Bear notes. Re-attach the ones you still want after import.

Carries over vs needs cleanup
- Imports cleanly: Headings, bullet lists, checklists, bold/italic, plain links, code blocks.
- Needs cleanup: Inline images (re-attach), nested tag hierarchies (remap to folders), Bear-specific styling.
How the Import Works
Bring It Into Taskade Genesis
Each imported note is now part of your Workspace DNA. Open the project's ... menu and choose Add to Agent Knowledge so a custom agent answers questions from your Bear notes. Start an automation from the project to act on new tasks. Then open Taskade Genesis and describe the app you want on top of it, such as a research tracker or a team wiki. For a web page or YouTube video, save the link in Media Files instead.
