Export & Print Projects

Overview

Hand a client a clean copy of their project, back up your work before a big edit, or move data into another tool. Taskade exports any project as an image, plain text, Markdown, CSV, or PDF, and you can print straight from the app. All export options live in the project menu.

TL;DR: Export any Taskade project as Image, Text, Markdown, CSV, or PDF from the three-dots menu, or print it straight from the app. CSV works from Table, List, Mind Map, Board, Calendar, and Org Chart views, and Markdown is the format to use for re-importable backups. See Import Markdown to bring exports back in.

Export a Project

  1. Click the three dots ··· at the top right-hand corner of your project.
  2. Select 📤 Export and choose one of the available formats:
  • 🏞 Image (perfect for mind maps, org charts, and flowcharts)
  • 🔡 Text
  • ⌨️ Markdown
  • 📊 CSV (spreadsheet rows from Table, List, Mind Map, Board, Calendar, and Org Chart views)
  • 📑 PDF

Each format serves a different purpose:

  • Image is best for visual project views like mind maps, org charts, and flowcharts. The export captures the full layout as a high-resolution image.
  • Text exports the raw content without formatting, useful for pasting into emails or plain-text editors.
  • Markdown preserves headings, bold text, links, and list structure. This is ideal if you want to re-import the content later or use it in another Markdown-compatible tool.
  • CSV exports your tasks as spreadsheet rows, one row per task, ready to open in Excel, Google Sheets, or any other tool. It works from the Table, List, Mind Map, Board, Calendar, and Org Chart views, so you are no longer limited to Table view.
  • PDF creates a printable document with formatting intact, suitable for reports and presentations.

To print a Taskade project:

  1. Click the three dots ··· in the top right-hand corner.
  2. Select 🖨️ Print from the drop-down list.
  3. Adjust your settings in the pop-up menu and you're all set!

Your browser's print dialog will open where you can choose a printer, select page range, and adjust layout settings like orientation and margins.

Tips

  • Use Markdown export if you plan to re-import the project into Taskade or another tool later.
  • Export a project as CSV when you need spreadsheet rows for Excel or Google Sheets. You can bring a CSV back in later with Import CSV Spreadsheets.
  • Image export works best when your project is in Mind Map or Org Chart view.
  • For regular backups, consider exporting important projects as Markdown files and storing them in a cloud drive.
  • You can export and re-import content between different Taskade workspaces using Markdown files.
