Overview
An AI Team is a group of your AI agents in one chat. The mode you pick decides which agents reply. It can be the single best agent, every agent, the agents you choose, or a planned handoff.
TL;DR: Group your agents into an AI Team, then chat with all of them in one place. Auto sends each message to the single best agent. Everyone asks every agent, and Manual asks the agents you pick. Orchestrate plans the work across agents. AI Teams need Pro or a higher plan. Build one fast with the AI Team Generator.
Each agent in the team keeps its own instructions, persistent memory, and tools. Connect the same projects to each agent to give the team shared memory. Each agent also sees the conversation so far, so a later reply can build on an earlier one.
Create an Agent
A team is built from agents. Create the specialists first, or let the AI Team Generator create them for you.
- In your workspace sidebar, open AI Agents.
- Click Generate to describe an agent, Templates to pick one, or Create to start blank.

Create an AI Team
- What you need: A workspace on Pro or a higher plan, with at least one agent.
- Time: About 1 minute.
- In your workspace sidebar, open AI Teams.
- Click Create. You can also click + (Create AI team) next to AI Teams and pick Start Blank.
- In the Create Team dialog, type a Name.
- Under Add to team, add the agents you want. Add at least one agent.
- Click Create.
All agents in a team must be in the same workspace. You are done when the team shows in AI Teams.
Use the Generator
The AI Team Generator creates new agents and the team from one prompt.
- In AI Teams, click Generate.
- Describe the work, then press Enter.

You can also click Templates to start from a ready-made team.
Interact With Your AI Team
Use the same team in three places.
Chat in the AI Teams Tab
- Open AI Teams.
- Click your team. The team chat opens.
- Pick a mode above the message box, then type your message.
Note: The scope of each agent's reply depends on its own knowledge. See Agent Knowledge & Memory.
Chat in Projects
- Open a project in the workspace that holds the team.
- Click the chat icon in the top bar.
- Open the menu at the top of the chat. Pick your team under the teams list.
- Ask the team about the project, or ask for help with it.
Note: A team chat in a project can read that project, so you can ask about the work you have open.
Assign AI Teams to Tasks
- Open a project in the workspace that holds the team.
- Click the task you want the team to work on.
- Type
/and the start of the team name, for example/soc. - Pick the team. Taskade picks the single best agent from the team for the task.
- When the result is ready, click Insert to add it to the task, or Replace to replace the task.
Use Agent Responses
Use the buttons under a team reply:

AI Teams Execution Mode
Pick a mode above the message box before you send. A new team chat starts in Auto.

Auto
The single best agent responds. Taskade reads your message and picks the agent that fits it. The box says: "Ask anything, and the best agent will respond. Or, choose specific agents above..."
Everyone
Every agent on the team replies to your message, one after another. Use this mode to compare views from different specialists.
Manual (One/Many Agents)
Click Manual and pick one or more agents under Select agents(s). Only those agents reply, one after another.
Orchestrate
Agents collaborate to respond together. A lead plans the work, gives each step to the best agent, and checks the result with a review step. The lead plans again after each round until the work is done, up to a fixed number of rounds.

Plan Availability
AI Teams need Pro or a higher plan. This covers every way to get a team: the generator, a blank team, a template, Taskade EVE, and a team inside an App Kit. Free and Starter workspaces can still use single custom agents and the agent generator.

AI usage is metered in credits, not seats. Each agent that replies uses credits, so an Everyone turn costs more than an Auto turn. See AI Usage & Credits.

What is an AI Team in Taskade?
