What does this Twilio automation do?
A named agent reviews a due task and sends SMS only when the task meets your escalation policy.
What can you do with it?
- Apply escalation rules before texting
- Avoid alerts for routine due work
- Carry prior escalation context into the decision
The Steps
This automation runs in 4 steps:
- When Taskade — Task Due
- Then Taskade AI — Ask Agent ("Due Date Escalator")
- Then Filter — continue only when the due task meets your escalation policy
- Then Twilio — Send SMS
What makes this different from a Zapier-style flow?
The "Due Date Escalator" step is not a one-off model call. It is a Taskade AI agent that knows your priority rules and escalation contacts, remembers which overdue alerts required intervention, so every run builds on the last one instead of starting from an empty prompt.
A stateless "ask the model" step forgets everything the moment it returns. An agent keeps its knowledge and its memory between runs, carries its own tools, and can be handed work by your other automations.
Who is this automation for?
