Clone App
Definition: Clone App in Taskade Genesis lets you duplicate an existing Genesis application, creating an independent copy that preserves the original's configuration, AI agents, automations, and project structure.
What Cloning Does
When you clone a Genesis app, you get a complete copy of the original application. The cloned app includes the same projects, AI agents, automations, and workflow configurations that made the original work. Once cloned, the copy is fully independent -- changes you make to one app do not affect the other.
Why Clone an App
Create Variations: Start from a working app and modify it for a different use case, audience, or team without rebuilding from scratch.
Test Safely: Duplicate a production app to experiment with changes in a separate copy. If the experiment does not work out, your original remains untouched.
Deploy Similar Solutions: When you need multiple apps that share the same foundation -- for example, onboarding workflows for different departments -- clone the base app and customize each copy.
Save Time: Cloning is faster than building a new app from a blank prompt. You skip the initial setup and jump straight to customization.
How to Clone a Genesis App
- Open the Genesis app you want to duplicate
- Select the clone or duplicate option
- Choose the destination workspace for the new copy
- The cloned app appears in your workspace, ready to customize
What Gets Copied
Projects and Data Structures: The project layout and configuration from the original app
AI Agents: Any agents configured in the original, including their instructions and settings
Automations: Workflow automations and their trigger configurations
App Settings: Visual layout, branding, and other app-level settings
After Cloning
The cloned app is independent from the original. You can rename it, reconfigure agents, adjust automations, change branding, and modify the project structure without affecting the source app. Similarly, updates to the original do not propagate to clones.
Getting Started: Open a Genesis app you want to duplicate, select the clone option, and customize the copy for your needs.
