What does this automation do?
The agent runs this flow itself: it searches the board for what already exists, decides what is missing, and files the issue.
What can you do with it?
- Ask for an issue in plain language and get it filed properly
- Have the board checked for a duplicate before anything is created
- Let the agent decide when to run the flow, not only what it does
The Steps
This automation runs in 4 steps:
- When Agent Tool
- Then Jira — Search Issues
- Then Taskade AI — Ask Agent ("Backlog Analyst")
- Then Jira — Create Issue
What makes this different from a Zapier-style flow?
The "Backlog Analyst" step is not a one-off model call. It is a Taskade AI agent that knows your roadmap, your board structure and what is already planned, remembers every issue it has filed and how it was worded, so every run builds on the last one instead of starting from an empty prompt.
A stateless "ask the model" step forgets everything the moment it returns. An agent keeps its knowledge and its memory between runs, carries its own tools, and can be handed work by other automations.
Who is this automation for?
Built for leads who describe work faster than they can file it. The agent runs this flow itself: it searches the board for what already exists, decides what is missing, and files the issue.
How do you set it up?

- Click ➕ Add automation, then start from scratch.
