Fill the chair and protect it. Describe your services, your stylists, and how long each treatment takes, and Taskade Genesis builds a booking app that captures requests per stylist, quotes the right duration and price, takes a deposit with a hosted Stripe link, and reminds the client twice before the day.
The Appointment Booking System is a live Taskade Genesis app on this page. Book a slot in it, see how a real appointment record behaves, then press "Use this app" to clone it in about ten seconds and add the services, the stylists, and the deposit rules described below.
Salons and barbershops lose money in two specific places: the client who books a two-hour colour and does not turn up, and the client who books a trim into a slot that needed to be a colour. Both are solved by asking two extra questions at the point of request. What service, and with whom. Once those are on the record, the duration and the deposit follow automatically and the day plans itself.
What the build gives you: a service list with duration and price, a stylist per booking, a request form that asks service, stylist preference, preferred day, and backup day, an automatic deposit request sized to the service, a client history with formulas and preferences, and a rebooking prompt at the interval that service usually needs.
The same bookings render in the layouts you need:
- Calendar view for the week per stylist, which is the view the floor actually runs on
- Table view for deposits taken, balances owed, and service durations
- Board view to move requests through Requested, Deposit Sent, Confirmed, and Completed
- Plus List, Mind Map, Gantt, and Org Chart across the rest of the 7 project views
Automations do the front desk work. A field update trigger on Confirmed fires the Stripe Checkout Session action sized to the service, a scheduled trigger sends the day-before text, and a delay action sends a rebooking nudge at the right interval after the appointment. Across 100+ bidirectional integrations, forms and Stripe pull in while SMS, email, and Slack push out. Automations run on paid plans; the Free plan includes 10 flow runs in total.
The AI agents in the app carry 34 built-in tools including persistent memory and file analysis. The Front Desk agent writes the confirmation in your salon's voice, recalls a client's colour formula and preferred stylist, and flags when someone is overdue for their usual appointment.
The rebooking nudge deserves a paragraph of its own because it is where the money is. A client who rebooks on the day is already handled. A client who leaves without rebooking is the one who drifts, and the window in which a friendly message still works is roughly the length of their usual cycle. Setting that interval per service, rather than sending everyone the same monthly newsletter, is what turns a chair full of one-off visits into a chair full of regulars.
Clone the app, invite your stylists, and the client list is yours. No booking platform charging per appointment and no directory renting you your own regulars.
Nothing here assumes a receptionist. A single-chair barber and a six-chair salon run the same app, with the difference being how many stylist filters exist on the Calendar view. That matters because the point at which most independents give up on booking software is the point at which it starts charging per chair for features a one-person business will never use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can clients pick a specific stylist?
Yes. Stylist is a field on the request, and it can be a firm preference or a "no preference" option that lets you place the booking wherever it fits. The Calendar view can be filtered per stylist so each chair has its own week.
How does the deposit amount get decided?
It is stored on the service. A cut and a full colour can carry different deposits, and the automation passes the right figure into the Stripe Checkout link without anyone choosing it manually.
Does it know how long each service takes?
Duration lives on the service record and copies onto the booking, so a two-hour treatment shows as two hours in the Calendar view. That is what stops a long service being booked into a short gap.
Can we keep colour formulas and client notes?
Yes, on the client record. Formulas, allergies, preferred products, and what they said last time. It persists across visits, which is the difference between a salon that feels personal and one that does not.
What happens if a client cancels late?
Your policy decides, and the record carries the deposit status so the conversation is easy. Late cancellations and no-shows are tracked per client, so a pattern is visible rather than remembered.
Can each stylist see only their own bookings?
Yes. Invite them to the workspace and filter their view. Roles run from Owner through Viewer, so a stylist can mark a booking Completed without being able to change prices.
Does it prompt clients to rebook?
Yes. Set a natural interval per service, six weeks for a colour or four for a fade, and a delayed automation sends a friendly nudge at that point. It is the single highest-return automation in this build.
Can we run this across two shops?
Yes. Add a location field and filter per site. The multi-location booking desk prompt covers running one queue across several shops properly.
