What does this automation do?
A new attachment is converted to text, read by an agent that knows what to look for, and filed as a task with an owner.
What can you do with it?
- Know what a document says without opening it
- Surface the dates, amounts and obligations on arrival
- Give every incoming file a reviewer instead of a folder
The Steps
This automation runs in 5 steps:
- When Gmail — New Email Attachment
- Then Media — Convert File to Text
- Then Taskade AI — Ask Agent ("Document Reader")
- Then Taskade — Add Task
- Then Taskade — Assign Task
What makes this different from a Zapier-style flow?
The "Document Reader" step is not a one-off model call. It is a Taskade AI agent that knows your standard terms, approval thresholds and red flags, remembers what it flagged on earlier documents from the same sender, so every run builds on the last one instead of starting from an empty prompt.
A stateless "ask the model" step forgets everything the moment it returns. An agent keeps its knowledge and its memory between runs, carries its own tools, and can be handed work by other automations.
Who is this automation for?
