What does this automation do?
Newsletters and receipts stop at the filter. Real customer mail continues, and then forks — an agent drafts a reply to anything urgent, the rest becomes a task.
What can you do with it?
- Keep vendor mail and receipts out of the workflow entirely
- Have a reply already drafted for the mail that needs one today
- File everything else without it feeling like it was ignored
The Steps
This automation runs in 3 steps:
- When Gmail — New Email
- Then Filter — continue only when the sender is a customer, not a newsletter
- Then Branch — Needs a reply today: Ask Agent, Create Draft Email · Can wait: Add Task
What makes this different from a Zapier-style flow?
The "Inbox Deputy" step is not a one-off model call. It is a Taskade AI agent that knows your tone, product docs and standing answers, remembers how you answered similar mail before, so every run builds on the last one instead of starting from an empty prompt.
A stateless "ask the model" step forgets everything the moment it returns. An agent keeps its knowledge and its memory between runs, carries its own tools, and can be handed work by other automations.
Who is this automation for?
Built for small teams working a shared inbox that fills with automated mail. Newsletters and receipts stop at the filter. Real customer mail continues, and then forks — an agent drafts a reply to anything urgent, the rest becomes a task.
