📉 Know Which Clients You Are Losing

Run a book of business without letting a renewal slip. These prompts build what an agent or broker actually needs: every policy with its renewal date, commission you can check, claims tracked from notification to settlement, and a client portal that answers the routine questions. The renewal date does the work, because it is a reminder that repeats every year on its own.

I know roughly how many clients I lose but nothing about why. Build me a retention app. For every policy that reaches its renewal date, record whether it renewed, was remarketed and retained, or lapsed, and on every lapse capture a reason from a short list such as price, moved to a direct insurer, business closed, went to another broker or no response, plus a note. Report retention by policy type, by carrier, by agent and by client tenure, as both a count and a percentage of premium value, since losing one large account is not the same as losing five small ones. Show me clients lost in the last year with the value they represented. Add an AI agent that reviews the last twelve months and tells me plainly where I am losing business and whether the cause is price, service or simply not contacting people in time, and estimates what it has cost. Automate two things: a prompt to record a reason whenever a policy lapses, and a scheduled quarterly retention report. Also set a win-back reminder six months after any lapse recorded as price. Two logins: an agent who sees their own retention, and an owner who sees the agency picture.

Know Which Clients You Are Losing

Track retention by policy type, carrier, and agent, capture lapse reasons, and quantify value lost rather than count.

// the spark catches · intelligence awakens · the answer unfolds

Retention is the health of an agency and almost nobody measures it properly. This tracks who stays, who leaves, and the reason, so the pattern becomes something you can act on.

What's Included

  • Retention by type and carrier not one agency-wide number.
  • A reason on every lapse recorded while it is fresh.
  • Value lost as well as count because they are different problems.
  • An assistant that names the pattern behind the losses.

How To Use

  1. Record a reason on every lapse. Without it the number teaches nothing.
  2. Split retention by policy type. One weak line can hide inside an average.
  3. Track value lost, not just policy count.
  4. Follow up lapses after six months. Some come back readily.

Feed it from the renewal engine, and act on it with CRM prompts.
