🔎 Check Your Vendors Before You Trust Them

We adopt AI tools without ever really checking the vendor. Build me a vendor assessment app. Keep a standard question set as editable records covering where data is processed and stored, whether our data is used for training, the subprocessors involved, retention periods, security certifications held, incident notification commitments, contract terms and exit arrangements. Assess every vendor against the same questions so answers are comparable, and attach the evidence for each answer rather than recording an assurance. Give each vendor an overall rating and record the residual risks accepted, with who accepted them. Show me the review date and the contract renewal date for each, and prompt the review before the renewal so we still have leverage. Add an AI agent that reads a vendor response and flags where the answer does not actually address the question, where the terms contradict what a salesperson stated, and where a subprocessor introduces risk the vendor's answer did not mention. Automate two things: a review reminder ahead of each contract renewal, and an alert when a vendor materially changes their terms. Two logins: a tool owner who gathers responses, and a governance owner who accepts risk.
