Taskade Genesis vs Google Veo

Google Veo turns prompts and reference images into video with native sound. Taskade is the AI workspace where your team plans the shots, keeps the prompts that worked, reviews each cut and ships it, with agents and automations built in.

TL;DR: Google Veo 3.1 is Google DeepMind's video model, with native sound and 1080p or 4K output, used in the Gemini app, Google Flow and the Gemini API. Taskade does not generate video. It runs the workflow around Veo: prompt libraries, review boards, client portals and automations. Taskade is Free Forever, and Pro is $10/mo billed annually for up to 10 seats. The honest answer first: Taskade does not generate video

Veo generates video and Taskade does not. If you need footage from a prompt or a reference image, the alternatives to Veo are other video models. Taskade has no native video generation, no music generation, no voice cloning or text-to-speech, and no avatar video.

What Taskade replaces is the process around Veo. A Google AI plan gives each creator a pool of Flow credits. It does not give an agency or brand team a shared brief, a prompt library with verdicts, an approval chain or a delivery calendar. Taskade is where that work lives.

Veo asks: "What does this scene look and sound like?" Taskade asks: "Which scenes does the campaign need, and who signed off?"

What is Google Veo?

Veo is Google DeepMind's family of video generation models. Google's Veo page calls Veo 3.1 its leading video generation model. It generates sound effects, ambient noise and dialogue with the picture, outputs 1080p and 4K, and supports reference images, scene extension, first and last frame transitions, outpainting and adding or removing objects.

Google Veo at a glance (verified October 2026): Veo 3.1 is the current Veo model on deepmind.google. You can use it in the Gemini app, Google Flow, Google AI Studio, the Gemini API and Google Vids. Consumer access comes with Google AI plans. Developers pay per second through the Gemini API: $0.40 per second for Veo 3.1 Standard at 720p or 1080p, $0.10 to $0.30 for Veo 3.1 Fast, and $0.05 to $0.08 for Veo 3.1 Lite.

At Google I/O in May 2026, Google introduced Gemini Omni, a model family that "can create anything from any input — starting with video." Gemini Omni Flash rolled out to Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers in the Gemini app and Google Flow. Google also added a Flow Agent for multi-step tasks and Flow Tools for custom creative tools, and said Flow is offered in over 140 countries.

Google Veo does well:

  • Realistic short clips with sound generated in the same pass
  • 1080p and 4K output for editing and fine detail
  • Control through reference images, first and last frames, and scene extension
  • Access in tools many people already use, such as the Gemini app and Google Vids
  • A clear per-second developer price on the Gemini API

Where teams hit limits: Veo and Flow organize generations for a creator. The business process around the footage, such as client intake, budgets, review rounds with people outside Google AI plans, the content calendar and the hand-off to sales or support, runs in other tools. Credits differ by plan, so a record of which prompts worked saves credits for the whole team.

Which Google entry point fits your team?

Entry point Who it suits How you pay
Gemini app Anyone who wants a quick clip from a chat Google AI plan
Google Flow Creators who build scenes, edit and organize assets Flow credits in a Google AI plan
Google Vids Work teams that make videos for work See Google Workspace plans
Gemini API and AI Studio Developers who generate video in their own product Per second of video

Each entry point produces footage. None of them is a shared project plan for the campaign, which is why teams pair Veo with a workspace.

What is Taskade?

Taskade is an AI workspace built on Workspace DNA: Memory (Projects), Intelligence (Agents) and Execution (Automations). Projects store the briefs, references and prompt libraries. Agents read them and draft scripts, shot lists and prompt variations. Automations move approved work to the next person or tool. Taskade Genesis turns a prompt into a live app, such as a client portal, that reads and writes the same data.

Taskade offers multiple project views: List, Board, Table, Mind Map, Docs (Beta), Gantt Chart, Calendar, Actionsheet and Org Chart. Gantt Chart, Actionsheet and Org Chart need a paid plan. Access is role-based from Owner to Viewer.

Feature-by-feature comparison

Generation

  • Veo generates video with native audio. Gemini Omni Flash adds conversational video editing in the Gemini app and Flow.
  • Taskade does not generate video. Taskade EVE can generate images while it builds a Taskade Genesis app, which helps a team sketch reference frames before it spends Flow credits.

Prompt and reference libraries

  • Veo in Flow keeps a creator's generations and lets the Flow Agent organize assets into collections.
  • Taskade keeps a shared, structured library. A Table view can track each shot with its prompt, reference image, audio direction, model, credits used and the reviewer verdict. An agent can search the library and draft new prompts in your house style. Start from the advertising prompts or social media prompts.

Review and approval

  • Veo output is shared from Flow or the Gemini app.
  • Taskade runs the approval chain: owners, due dates, comments and Board columns from Draft to Approved, open to clients and freelancers with the right role.

Automation

  • Veo reaches developers through the Gemini API.
  • Taskade runs automations across 100+ integrations. When a cut is approved, an automation can post it to Slack, update the calendar and notify the client. The generic HTTP request action can call third-party APIs, including the Gemini API, with your own key.

Client delivery

  • Veo output downloads from Flow or Gemini.
  • Taskade Genesis builds a client review portal from a prompt, live at a shareable URL with email-and-password sign-in on every plan, password protection on Pro and above, and custom domains on Pro and above. Sign-in confirms who a visitor is. You match records to each login and test with a second account.

A concrete "use both" workflow

This setup suits a marketing team or agency that makes short video ads and social clips with Veo.

  1. Brief. A stakeholder submits a request through a Taskade Genesis form. It lands as a task with audience, channel and deadline.
  2. Script. A Taskade agent drafts a script with dialogue and sound cues, because Veo generates audio with the picture.
  3. Library. Each scene gets a Table row with the Veo prompt, reference image, first and last frame notes, and target channel.
  4. Generate. A creator runs the scenes in Google Flow, picks the best take, and attaches the export link to the row.
  5. Review. The row moves on a Board from Internal review to Client review. The checklist includes a check of Google's watermark and disclosure policy.
  6. Deliver. An automation posts approved cuts to Slack and adds them to the content calendar.
  7. Reuse. The winning prompt keeps its verdict for the next campaign.

Google prices vary by country, and Flow features vary by plan, platform and region, so check gemini.google/subscriptions and the Gemini API pricing page before you budget. Google plans buy generations and the Gemini assistant. Taskade plans buy the shared workspace, agents, automations and hosted apps. See Taskade pricing.

Choose Google Veo if

  • You need realistic short clips with dialogue, ambient sound and effects generated with the picture.
  • Your team already pays for Google AI plans, so Veo and Flow come with tools you use every day.
  • Your developers want a simple per-second price through the Gemini API.

Choose Taskade if

  • You need one workspace for briefs, scripts, prompt libraries, approvals and delivery across clients and channels.
  • You want AI agents that draft scripts and prompt variations from your brand notes and past winners.
  • You want automations that move approved work into Slack, calendars, CRMs and 100+ other tools.
  • You want a client intake form or review portal that your team builds from a prompt with Taskade Genesis.

Use both if you produce video ads or social clips with Veo. Veo makes the scenes. Taskade decides what to make, remembers what worked and gets approved work out.
