TL;DR: Seedance 2.5, from ByteDance Seed, generates 30-second video with synced audio and up to 30 image, 10 video and 10 audio references. It runs in Dreamina, Jimeng, Doubao and the BytePlus ModelArk API. Taskade does not generate video. It runs the workflow around Seedance: reference libraries, review boards, client portals and automations. Taskade is Free Forever, and Pro is $10/mo billed annually for up to 10 seats. The honest answer first: Taskade does not generate video

Seedance generates video and Taskade does not. If you need footage from text, images, clips or audio, the alternatives to Seedance are other video models. Taskade has no native video generation, no music generation, no voice cloning or text-to-speech, and no avatar video.

What Taskade replaces is the process around Seedance. A single Seedance 2.5 generation can take up to 50 reference files. Across a campaign, that becomes hundreds of images, clips and audio tracks, each tied to a shot, a prompt and a client decision. Taskade is where the team keeps that map and runs the approvals.

Seedance asks: "Which references should this clip follow?" Taskade asks: "Which clips does the campaign need, and which ones are approved?"

What is Seedance?

Seedance is ByteDance Seed's family of video generation models. Seedance 2.0 introduced a unified multimodal audio-video architecture that accepts text, image, audio and video inputs. Seedance 2.5, introduced on July 31, 2026, extends that to 30-second single-pass clips with stronger reference control and editing.

Seedance at a glance (verified October 2026): Seedance 2.5 makes 30-second audio-video clips in one pass and supports several rounds of extension, which ByteDance says can reach multi-minute videos. It accepts up to 30 images, 10 video clips and 10 audio clips as references and adds timestamp-level editing. Developers pay per token on BytePlus ModelArk.

ByteDance's launch post says Seedance 2.5 rolled out on Jimeng and Doubao Pro, with API access through BytePlus ModelArk. In October 2026 the ModelArk pricing page lists the model as live, and Dreamina by CapCut lists Seedance 2.5 next to Seedance 2.0 and 2.0 Mini. Runway also offers Seedance 2.5 on its Pro and Max plans.

Seedance does well:

  • Long single-pass clips, up to 30 seconds, with sound generated in sync
  • Heavy reference control, with images, video and audio in one generation
  • Editing at the timestamp level, plus green-screen and white-model control for production work
  • Several ways in: consumer apps, a token-priced API and third-party studios
  • Clear developer pricing, charged only for successful generations

Where teams hit limits: Seedance is a model, and each app around it handles assets its own way. Client intake, budgets, review rounds with people outside the app, the publishing calendar and the hand-off to sales or support teams run in other tools. With up to 50 references per generation, a team also needs one place that records which references produced which approved take.

What is Taskade?

Taskade is an AI workspace built on Workspace DNA: Memory (Projects), Intelligence (Agents) and Execution (Automations). Projects store the briefs, references and prompt libraries. Agents read them and draft scripts, shot lists and prompt variations. Automations move approved work to the next person or tool. Taskade Genesis turns a prompt into a live app, such as a client portal, that reads and writes the same data.

Taskade offers multiple project views: List, Board, Table, Mind Map, Docs (Beta), Gantt Chart, Calendar, Actionsheet and Org Chart. Gantt Chart, Actionsheet and Org Chart need a paid plan. Access is role-based from Owner to Viewer.

Feature-by-feature comparison

Generation

  • Seedance generates video and audio together and edits clips at the timestamp level.
  • Taskade does not generate video. Taskade EVE can generate images while it builds a Taskade Genesis app, which helps a team draft reference frames before it spends generation budget.

Reference and prompt libraries

  • Seedance takes references per generation inside the app or API call you use.
  • Taskade keeps a shared, structured library. A Table view can track each shot with its prompt, image references, reference clips, audio references, duration, cost and the reviewer verdict. An agent can search the library and draft new prompts in your house style. Start from the advertising prompts or social media prompts.

Review and approval

  • Seedance output downloads from the app or returns from the API.
  • Taskade runs the approval chain: owners, due dates, comments and Board columns from Draft to Approved, open to clients and freelancers with the right role.

Automation

  • Seedance reaches developers through BytePlus ModelArk.
  • Taskade runs automations across 100+ integrations. When a clip is approved, an automation can post it to Slack, update the calendar and notify the client. The generic HTTP request action can call third-party APIs, including ModelArk, with your own key. Taskade has no native Seedance connector.

Client delivery

  • Seedance delivers files from each app.
  • Taskade Genesis builds a client review portal from a prompt, live at a shareable URL with email-and-password sign-in on every plan, password protection on Pro and above, and custom domains on Pro and above. Sign-in confirms who a visitor is. You match records to each login and test with a second account.

A concrete "use both" workflow

This setup suits an e-commerce brand or agency that makes product and social video with Seedance.

  1. Brief. A client or product manager submits a request through a Taskade Genesis form, with product images and target channels.
  2. Script. A Taskade agent drafts a script and shot list with audio cues, because Seedance generates sound with the picture.
  3. Reference map. Each shot gets a Table row that lists its images, reference clips and audio references, so nobody guesses which files went into a take.
  4. Generate. An editor runs the shots in Dreamina, Runway or the ModelArk API, picks the best take, and attaches the export link with the cost.
  5. Review. The row moves on a Board from Internal review to Client review. Notes stay on the task.
  6. Deliver. An automation posts approved cuts to Slack and adds them to the content calendar.
  7. Reuse. The winning prompt and reference set keep their verdict for the next product drop.

On BytePlus's own examples, a 5-second 16:9 clip without video input costs about $0.51 at 480p, $1.16 at 720p and $2.84 at 1080p. Video input raises the token count. Consumer apps change their offers often, so check each app before you budget. Taskade plans buy the shared workspace, agents, automations and hosted apps. See Taskade pricing.

How Seedance 2.5 compares with other video models

Model Maker Longest single clip (vendor figure) References
Seedance 2.5 ByteDance Seed 30 seconds, extendable Up to 30 images, 10 video clips, 10 audio clips
Kling 4.0 Kuaishou 30 seconds Up to 10 keyframes and 15 combined references
Veo 3.1 Google DeepMind 8-second clips with scene extension Reference images, first and last frames

Use both if you produce product or social video with Seedance. Seedance makes the clips. Taskade decides what to make, keeps the reference map and ships the approved work.

Frequently asked questions

Can Taskade make videos like Seedance?

No. Taskade has no native video generation. Use Seedance or another video model for footage, and Taskade for the workflow.

Can a Taskade agent write Seedance prompts?

Yes. A Taskade agent can read your brief, reference map and prompt library and draft Seedance prompts with audio cues for an editor to run.

Is Seedance 2.0 still available?

Yes. BytePlus ModelArk still lists Seedance 2.0, 2.0 Fast and 2.0 Mini at lower token rates than 2.5, and Dreamina lists Seedance 2.0 and 2.0 Mini. A team can draft with a cheaper model and finish with 2.5. Record which model made each take in the Taskade library.

What other video models fit the same workflow?

Kling, Veo and Runway Gen-4.5 fit the same library and review board. See the free Kling alternative, free Veo alternative and free Runway alternative pages.

Run the workflow around your video model

Seedance gives your team long clips with sound. Taskade gives the same team one place where briefs, references, reviews and deliveries stay connected.
