Taskade vs ListenHub

ListenHub turns a topic, a link or a document into a finished podcast, voiceover or explainer video. Taskade does not make audio. It runs the work around the audio: the episode plan, the sources, the script review, the agents and the automations that publish it.

TL;DR: ListenHub makes the audio: AI podcasts, voiceovers, cloned voices, explainer videos and slides. Taskade does not generate audio. Taskade runs the show around it: episode plans, source notes, script review boards, AI agents grounded in your sources, and automations across 100+ integrations. Use both. Taskade is Free Forever. Two different jobs

ListenHub and Taskade do not compete on the same job. ListenHub is a generator. You give it a topic, a web or YouTube link or a document, and it returns a podcast, a voiceover or an explainer video. Taskade has no audio, voice or video generation at all, and it does not try to.

Taskade is the workspace for everything that surrounds a recurring audio program. Which topics go out this month? Which sources back each claim? Who checked the script? Has legal cleared the cloned voice? Where does the episode get posted, and who tells the sales team? Those questions decide whether a show ships every week, and they live in projects, agents and automations.

ListenHub asks: "What should this episode sound like?" Taskade asks: "How does the team ship an episode every week?"

What is Taskade?

Taskade is an AI workspace built on Workspace DNA: Memory (Projects), Intelligence (AI Agents) and Execution (Automations). Projects hold docs, tasks, files and structured data. Agents read that memory and answer from it. Automations act and write results back. Founded by John Xie, Dionis Loire and Stan Chang in 2017, Taskade is a Y Combinator-backed company.

Taskade Genesis builds live apps from a prompt inside that workspace. A podcast team can build an episode request form, a guest booking portal or a show-notes hub, with agents and automations already connected. Apps run at a shareable URL with GenesisAuth email-and-password sign-in on every plan, password protection on Pro and above, and custom domains on Pro and above.

What is ListenHub?

ListenHub is built by MarsWave and describes itself as "One platform for AI content creation." You start from a sentence, a web or YouTube link, a document or a reference image, and it produces the script, the voiceover, the visuals and the subtitles in one workspace.

ListenHub at a glance (verified October 2026): AI Podcast with one or two hosts, as a quick digest, a deep dive or a debate. A voice library of 910 official voices in 12 languages, and voice cloning in 12 languages. Text-to-speech, multi-speaker voiceover, audio-to-text, AI images, AI video, slides with speaker notes and narration, and explainer videos in knowledge or story mode. Developers get an HTTP API, a CLI, a typed JavaScript SDK, an MCP server and Agent Skills. Plans: Starter $12/mo, Basic $24/mo, Pro $49/mo, or $100, $200 and $399 a year.

ListenHub is candid about its own scope. In its July 30, 2026 comparison of text-to-speech tools, the ListenHub team writes that it is "the wrong call when you want cheap bulk synthesis or sub-second streaming," and that its podcast format "still generates in English, Chinese and Japanese only." It says it is the better answer for a multi-voice program built from a source document with an editable script, and for an agent or backend that needs that output behind one key.

ListenHub does well:

  • Two-host podcasts from a document or link, with a script you can edit before any audio renders
  • Voice cloning that you can reuse across voiceover, podcasts and video
  • One credit balance across audio, image, video and slides
  • A developer surface (API, SDK, CLI, MCP server and Agent Skills) for automated generation
  • Commercial use of output with no revenue share, per ListenHub's FAQ

Where teams hit limits: ListenHub produces media. Planning a season, assigning research, reviewing scripts against sources, approving cloned-voice use, and distributing each episode to Slack, a CMS or a client happen outside the generator.

Feature-by-feature deep dive

Audio and voice

  • ListenHub generates podcasts, voiceovers and narration, and clones voices.
  • Taskade does not generate audio or voice. Keep ListenHub, or another audio tool, for that layer.

Research and scripts

  • ListenHub writes a script from your topic or source, and you edit it before rendering.
  • Taskade gives a custom AI agent knowledge from files (PDF, DOCX, CSV, images), web pages, YouTube transcripts and live projects. The agent drafts outlines, checks a script against the sources and answers questions from the team. See agent knowledge.

Planning and approvals

  • ListenHub organizes your generated content in its workspace.
  • Taskade runs the production calendar with multiple project views: List, Board, Table, Mind Map, Docs (Beta), Gantt Chart, Calendar, Actionsheet and Org Chart. Gantt Chart, Actionsheet and Org Chart need a paid plan. A Board with Idea, Research, Script, Review, Approved and Published columns gives every episode an owner and a status.

Automation

  • ListenHub exposes generation to code through its API, SDK, CLI, MCP server and Agent Skills.
  • Taskade runs automations across 100+ integrations. Triggers such as a new RSS feed item start a flow. Actions post to Slack or create a post in WordPress. The HTTP request action can call ListenHub's API with your own key, and webhooks are available on Pro and above. There is no native ListenHub connector.

Delivery

  • ListenHub exports audio, video and slides.
  • Taskade Genesis publishes a show hub, a guest intake form or a client portal at a URL, with custom domains on Pro and above.

Use both: a weekly podcast workflow

  1. Plan the season in Taskade. List episode ideas on a Board and set dates in the Calendar view.
  2. Collect sources. Attach the articles, PDFs and YouTube links for each episode to the project, and give a Taskade agent the same sources as knowledge.
  3. Keep a prompt library. Store the prompts and host instructions that produce your show's tone in a shared project. Browse AI prompts for a starting set.
  4. Generate in ListenHub. Paste the approved outline into ListenHub, pick the hosts or your cloned voice, edit the script and render the episode.
  5. Review in Taskade. Add the episode link to the Review column. The agent checks the show notes against the sources, and the producer approves.
  6. Automate the release. When the card moves to Approved, an automation posts the link to Slack and creates the show-notes post in WordPress.
  7. Optional, for developers. An automation with the HTTP request action can start a ListenHub render through its API with your own key. ListenHub generation is asynchronous, so add a later step that collects the finished file.

The Workspace DNA advantage

  • Memory (Projects): Episode plans, sources, scripts, guest notes and prompt libraries that every agent can read.
  • Intelligence (Agents): Custom agents with persistent memory, built-in tools and the knowledge you attach.
  • Execution (Automations): Flows that start on an event, act through agents and write results back to Memory.

Every episode adds sources and notes to the workspace, so the next script starts from what the show already covered. Read how Workspace DNA works for the full model.

When to choose each

Choose ListenHub if:

  • You want a finished podcast or voiceover from a document or link in minutes.
  • You want to clone your own voice and reuse it across podcasts, voiceover and video.
  • You are a developer who wants audio generation behind an API, an SDK or an MCP server.

Choose Taskade if:

  • Several people plan, research, review and approve each episode.
  • You want agents that know your show's sources and automations that publish each release.
  • You want a show hub, guest form or client portal as a live app.

Use both if: you run a recurring audio program. ListenHub makes the episode. Taskade runs the production line around it.

Frequently asked questions

Is Taskade a ListenHub replacement?

No. Taskade does not generate audio, voice or video. It replaces the scattered docs, spreadsheets and chat threads that usually surround an AI podcast workflow.

Does Taskade have an ElevenLabs or ListenHub connector?

No. Taskade has no native connector for either. The HTTP request action can call their APIs with your own key.

Can Taskade transcribe audio?

Taskade agents can read YouTube links through their auto-generated transcripts. For general audio-to-text, use a dedicated tool such as ListenHub's audio-to-text feature.

Who owns the scripts and notes in Taskade?

Your team does. Workspaces use role-based access from Owner to Viewer, Business plans and above add SSO, and Enterprise adds SCIM user provisioning.

Run the show, not only the audio

ListenHub gives you the voice. Taskade gives the team one place to plan, check and ship every episode.
