Taskade Genesis vs Suno

Suno turns a prompt into a finished song. Taskade does not generate music. Taskade Genesis is the workspace where the briefs, lyrics, shortlists, rights checks and release dates live, with AI agents and automations that keep every track moving.

TL;DR: Suno generates finished songs from a prompt, and Taskade does not generate music. Taskade Genesis runs the workflow around Suno: a prompt and lyric library, a shortlist board, a rights and release checklist, AI agents that draft lyrics, and automations that announce approved tracks. Use both. Taskade is Free Forever, and Pro is $10/mo billed annually. Try Taskade free →

Different jobs: Suno makes the song, Taskade runs the release

Suno and Taskade solve different problems. If you want a song, a beat, a jingle, a remix or a set of stems from a written idea, a voice memo or an image, Suno is the tool. Taskade has no music generation, no vocal generation, no voice cloning and no text-to-speech, and it does not try to replace Suno.

What Taskade replaces is the coordination around the music. A creator who releases often, a brand that commissions jingles, or an agency that scores short-form video needs a brief, a style prompt, lyrics, a shortlist of takes, a rights check, a download budget and a release date. Taskade Genesis holds that whole pipeline in one workspace, with AI agents that draft lyrics and briefs and automations that tell the team when a track is approved.

Suno asks: "What should this song sound like?" Taskade asks: "Which take is approved, are the rights clear, and when does it ship?"

What is Suno?

Suno is an AI music platform that calls itself "the #1 AI music app," with the headline "Make any song you can imagine." It generates full songs with vocals or instrumentals from text, and v6 also accepts audio, images and video as input. Suno also offers Voices, which sing with your own recorded voice, custom models trained on your recordings, stem separation, and Suno Studio, a browser-based DAW.

Suno at a glance (verified October 2026): Suno launched v6 on September 9, 2026, with v6 and v6-wild for Pro and Premier and v6-mini for everyone. Studio 2.0 arrived on August 13, 2026, and Speech entered beta on October 1, 2026. The Free plan gives 50 credits a day with no commercial rights. Pro costs $8 a month and Premier $24 a month on annual billing. See suno.com/pricing for current rates.

Suno does well:

  • Finished songs with vocals in seconds, across genres and moods
  • Plain-language edits on v6, such as changing one section or one lyric without rebuilding the song
  • Mashups and sampling in one request, plus input from text, audio, images and video
  • Voices and custom models that start from your own sound
  • Suno Studio on Premier, with MIDI, effects, automation and stem separation

What is Taskade Genesis?

Taskade Genesis is the AI app builder inside the Taskade workspace. It is built on Workspace DNA: Memory (Projects), Intelligence (AI Agents) and Execution (Automations). Your projects hold the briefs, prompts, lyrics and release plans. Your agents read those projects and draft, compare and summarize. Your automations carry approved work forward and write the result back into the workspace.

One prompt to Taskade Genesis can produce a working app: a jingle request form, a client listening portal, a release calendar dashboard or a sync licensing tracker. Every app goes live at a shareable URL, with GenesisAuth email-and-password sign-in on every plan, password protection on Pro and above, and custom domains on Pro and above. Apps that other builders publish sit in the Community Gallery, where you can clone them.

Where music teams hit limits with a generator alone

Suno is excellent at the song. Most of the friction in a music program happens around the generation.

Stage What breaks without a shared workspace How Taskade handles it
Prompts Winning style prompts get lost in the creation history A prompt library project with one task per prompt, tagged by genre and mood
Lyrics Drafts live in notes apps and chat threads An AI agent drafts and revises lyrics from the brief, in one project
Shortlists Nobody agrees which take is the keeper A Board view with Idea, Generated, Shortlist, Approved and Released columns
Downloads and credits Downloads run out before release week A Table view that counts downloads against the monthly plan limit
Rights A track ships before anyone checks the plan and the terms A release checklist that requires a rights check before Approved
Release Release dates sit in one person's calendar A Calendar view plus automations that post updates to Slack or Discord

The downloads row is new in 2026. Since September 3, 2026, Suno Pro includes 20 song downloads a month and Premier 60. Subscription credits do not carry over from month to month. A shortlist board means you spend downloads only on approved takes.

The use-both workflow: a Suno release hub in Taskade

This setup works for an independent artist, a content agency or a brand team that commissions music. Suno stays the music engine. Taskade runs everything else.

  1. Create a prompt and lyric library. One task per song idea, with the brief, the style prompt, the lyrics, reference notes and the Suno link once a take exists.
  2. Train a lyricist agent. Give an AI agent your past lyrics, your brand or artist voice and the brief format as knowledge. The agent drafts lyrics and style prompts that match each brief.
  3. Run a shortlist board. Switch to Board view with columns for Idea, Generated, Shortlist, Approved and Released. Assign a reviewer and a due date to every card.
  4. Add a rights gate. Before a card moves to Approved, a checklist confirms the plan the track was made on and that the current Suno terms allow the planned use.
  5. Automate the announcement. When a card moves to Approved, a Taskade automation posts the track and its release date to Slack or Discord.
  6. Track the release. A Calendar view shows every release date. The YouTube connector, a premium connector, can fire when a tracked channel uploads a new video, so the Released column stays current.

Agencies can turn the board into a Taskade Genesis listening portal for clients. Sign-in confirms who each client is. You match each review record to that login and test the setup with a second account.

Feature-by-feature

Music generation

  • Suno generates songs, instrumentals, remixes and stems, and edits them with plain-language instructions on v6.
  • Taskade does not generate music or audio. Taskade EVE can generate images during a Taskade Genesis build, which helps with cover art drafts and release graphics.

Writing and AI agents

  • Suno takes lyrics and a style prompt for each creation.
  • Taskade ships AI Agents with built-in tools, persistent memory and custom knowledge. An agent can read the web through search and fetch, research a genre or a campaign and draft a lyric set that fits the brief. Agents read the web but never drive a browser.

Collaboration and approvals

  • Suno centers on the individual creator's library, with sharing and publishing to listeners.
  • Taskade offers real-time collaboration on every plan, with multiple project views (List, Board, Table, Mind Map, Docs (Beta), Gantt Chart, Calendar, Actionsheet and Org Chart), comments, assignees and role-based access from Owner to Viewer. Gantt Chart, Actionsheet and Org Chart need a paid plan.

Automation and integrations

  • Suno is a creative tool, not a workflow tool.
  • Taskade includes reliable automations with branching, looping and filtering across 100+ integrations, plus the generic HTTP request action and webhook triggers on Pro and above.

Pricing comparison

Plan Taskade Genesis Suno (verified October 2026)
Free Free Forever: unlimited projects, 2 members, 1 agent, 3 Taskade Genesis apps 50 credits a day, free models, no commercial rights, no monthly song downloads
Entry paid Pro $10/mo billed annually ($20 monthly), up to 10 seats Pro $8/mo on annual billing: 2,500 credits, 20 song downloads a month, commercial use rights
Mid tier Business $25/mo billed annually ($50 monthly) Premier $24/mo on annual billing: 10,000 credits, 60 song downloads a month, Suno Studio

Enterprise $250/mo billed annually ($500 monthly) Not listed

Suno advertises a 20 percent saving for yearly billing, so month-to-month billing costs more than the figures above. Purchased top-up credits do not expire but need an active subscription. See suno.com/pricing for current rates. Taskade charges per workspace for the projects, agents, automations and hosted apps that manage the work.

When to choose each

Choose Suno if:

  • Your deliverable is a song, a jingle, a beat or a set of stems, and you want it from a prompt.
  • You want to sing with your own voice or train a custom model on your own recordings.
  • You want a browser-based DAW to arrange and mix the result without leaving the product.

Choose Taskade Genesis if:

  • You need one place for briefs, prompts, lyrics, shortlists, rights checks and release dates.
  • You want AI agents that know your voice and automations that announce approved work without manual chasing.
  • You want to ship client listening portals and release trackers as live apps, without code.

Use both if: you release music on a schedule or deliver tracks to clients. Suno makes the song. Taskade decides which take ships, records the rights check and shows when it goes live.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free Suno alternative for making songs?

Taskade is not one, because Taskade does not generate music. Suno's own Free plan gives 50 credits a day on its free model, without commercial rights. Taskade Genesis is the free workspace that runs the briefs, shortlists and releases around those songs.

Does Taskade have a Suno integration?

There is no native Suno connector. Teams link each Suno take from its task and use Taskade automations for the announcements, calendars and client updates around it.

Can Taskade help me write lyrics?

Yes. A Taskade AI agent can draft and revise lyrics from a brief, keep your past lyrics as knowledge and suggest style prompts to try in Suno.

Is Taskade free?

Yes. The Free Forever plan includes unlimited projects, 2 workspace members, 1 AI agent and 3 Taskade Genesis apps. Free starts with no AI credits. You earn credits with referrals and invites, or buy a credit pack on any plan.

Run the release operation around your songs

Suno gives every creator a studio band on demand. Taskade gives the same creator the system that decides which take ships, clears the rights and puts the release on the calendar.
